The D-19 was introduced by Martin in 1976. It is basically
guitars were produced in 1976, only 600 in 1977 and a total of 1,715 guitars of this model between 1976 and 1988
.
All in all, this rare vintage Martin dreadnought is in beautiful condition with only superficial signs of use. It plays superbly, has an absolutely resonant sound and, as you would expect from a close relative of the classic D-18, delivers a powerful and warm Martin sound. The corner of the Headstock near the tuning peg of the high E string has been slightly repaired, and – to rule out future problems – a fine crack on the back has been invisibly filled with bone glue.
It has been freshly restrung with a D’Addario EJ16 Phosphor Bronze set (.012 – .053)
and still has its original case.
