An absolute dream dreadnought! This Martin D-28, built in 1952, impressively demonstrates why vintage Martins are still among the most sought-after acoustic guitars today.
The sound is truly spectacular with the typical characteristics of a vintage dreadnought with Brazilian rosewood: assertive, great bass, wonderful mids.
The condition of the guitar is also impressive despite its age: original hardware, original finish, good neck angle, great string action and very pleasant playability. The instrument also has a really great patina that immediately captivates you! You wonder what this historic Martin has seen and experienced. There are of course traces of use and scratches, but this is to be expected with a guitar of this age that has been played a lot and is in tune.
In the course of its life, a few repairs were carried out absolutely professionally. A few of them in our own workshop.
- The frets were completely renewed in our workshop and the fingerboard was slightly dressed
- The guitar was professionally adjusted, checked and restringed in our workshop
- New glued-in long saddle
- Pins have been replaced with new ones
- Original case no longer available, a high-quality Dreadnought hard case and a high-quality Martin soft case are included if required.
- A small and visually slightly visible crack in the middle of the Top was professionally closed and reinforced at an earlier stage.
We have carefully inspected the guitar in our Professional luthier’s workshop and can confirm the very good condition and quality of the work carried out.
The Cites certificates required for Brazilian Rosewood are of course available and included.
Once again a historic instrument, a great sounding guitar and collector’s item at the same time. Now available from us!
