Hozen Guitars from Singapore now produces around 400 to 500 instruments a year. Everything is made entirely by hand and with great attention to detail. Ho Zen Yong, the founder of Maestro Guitars and Hozen Guitars, comes from a family of piano makers in Singapore. He had his first contact with musical instruments in his father’s business when he helped his father with various piano repairs.
A joint visit to a music fair in China in 2003 finally inspired the then still young Ho Zen to build his own instruments and the rest is history, so to speak. Maestro Guitars was founded and is now one of the world’s best-known Asian manufacturers of high-quality ukuleles and guitars. Hozen Guitars followed a few years later as another brand and instruments that combine high-quality workmanship, the best wood quality and innovative design.
