Dowina founder Stanislav Petko Marinov began building violins in 1979. After the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1990, he founded Expos Music and became the first importer of well-known guitar brands for Slovakia. He later turned his attention to building acoustic guitars. Today, the name Dowina stands for a European family business in which all instruments are handmade with great care.
