This great guitar from Jellinghaus is based on an instrument that the world-famous Spanish luthier Manuel Ramirez built in 1912 for the equally world-famous guitarist Andres Segovia. Solid Canadian cedar for the top combined with beautifully grained and almost three-dimensional solid granadillo for the back and sides gives this guitar a wonderfully warm sound with fine mids and basses. This Jellinghaus also impresses visually with its outstanding workmanship and great attention to detail, as is usual with this manufacturer.
Jellinghaus instruments are the work of the well-known guitar maker Edmund Blöchinger and the tonewood expert Wolfgang Jellinghaus. Historically important and legendary instruments, such as those made by the famous 18th century guitar maker Antonio de Torres, are carefully examined using the few surviving originals and detailed construction plans are drawn up. Based on this data, the highest quality fully solid and hand-built instruments are then constructed, which are visually and tonally modeled on the originals. Jellinghaus instruments are made by experienced master luthiers in China. The Jellinghaus / Pepe Romero instruments are the result of a collaboration between Jellinghaus and Pepe Romero Jr.
