Another sensational new addition from Hammet Guitars, ordered by us as a custom order: Nitro lacquer Aged Piano Black, Bigsby tremolo, Mojo Tone Hershey bar pickups and body, headstock and neck in beautiful Celluloid Tortoise binding.
The H161 “Slim Twin” is a flat-top electric guitar with a semi-hollow body. It has similar upper and lower body dimensions to the ES-330/335, but a slightly wider waist. The body profile corresponds to that of the original Kay K161, but is thinner and has a modified internal construction. The average weight is 3.2 kg.
The H161 “Slim Twin” is a guitar inspired by and derived from one of the most iconic Chicago blues electric guitar models ever: the Kay 161 “Thin Twin”. This guitar model was played by the pioneers of electric Chicago blues, such as Jimmy Reed and Howlin’ Wolf, and thus became quite famous. A real underdog, but nonetheless formative for the history of Chicago blues.
The curved maple sides, the mahogany bridge and the large hollow body allow for a variety of miking effects that further shape the sound of the two MOJO Hershey Bar pickups. In the middle position, the two fine sound characteristics can be mixed effectively with the separate volume controls, resulting in limitless sound possibilities. A guitar that takes you back to the era of electric guitars of yesteryear and is not only suitable for blues guitarists. Jazz players who want a warm and smooth tone will also get their money’s worth here!
Hammet Guitar Co. from England is the latest and a very special addition to our range of electric guitars!
