Limited to just 250 pieces, the Martin D-35 David Gilmour Signature Edition is the result of a close collaboration between the world-famous Pink Floyd guitarist and musician David Gilmour and the Martin Customshop.
Based on David’s legendary D-35, which has accompanied him for more than 40 years, this breathtaking guitar was created, which was built down to the smallest detail according to David Gilmour’s visual and tonal wishes. The few 6-string and 12-string models built are also the first and only D-35 models to be built with “Sinker Mahogany”. Back, sides and neck.
The Adirondack spruce Top with VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) provides a great vintage sound and is complemented by an antique white Binding and a vintage high-gloss finish. The 6-string guitar is also equipped with Waverly Relic nickel tuners. The neck shape was specially made to David’s specifications, and the back of the Headstock is adorned with a special stamp.
Both versions were delivered with special Martin molded hardcases, as well as special leather hangtags and special certificates.
Each instrument in this special series is personally signed by David Gilmour.
The result is probably one of the most coveted and rarest special editions that Martin has ever brought to market.
