The Essential OM offers the pure Atkin sound – reduced to the essentials! Each Essential OM has a North American Sitka spruce top and PreWar scalloped bracing. Mahogany back and sides are complemented by a light mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard.
The OM, or “Orchestra Model”, combines a full scale with a slightly smaller body – it is narrower and flatter than a dreadnought. The challenge when building an OM is often to deliver a rich, powerful sound and beautiful bass and mids despite the smaller, more ergonomic body. This is ensured by the scalloped bracing and the thermally treated Sitka spruce top on this Atkin.
This time we ordered this OM in Heavy Aged “Argentine Grey” and Atkin has once again delivered 100%. Visually and sonically insane.
