The Gibson Les Paul Recording was produced from around 1971 to 1979 and is definitely one of the rarer and most unusual models in the Gibson range. The factory-installed circuitry offers countless unusual and exciting possibilities:
– 11-way rotary switch that can be used in combination with the low-impedance switch
– “Phase switch” for switching between phase and out of phase; even the “Phase Out” option in the middle position
– 3-way switch between “All Circuits”, “Volume + Rotary”, “Bypass Treble & Bass”
The guitar is in very good condition, plays great, sounds great and all electronic components of the existing circuitry work. The original Gibson case is included, the original bridge is currently swapped for another Gibson style bridge but is in the case and will be included.
The instrument was fitted with new frets and optimally adjusted in our own luthiery workshop.
As there is no serial number on the back of the Headstock, we were unable to determine the exact year of manufacture of the guitar. However, as the guitar has a high/low impedance switch, our research suggests that it is one of the earlier models. Our research has also shown that Gibson guitars from these years, especially models such as the Les Paul Recording, were sometimes not stamped with serial numbers in the Gibson factory. As you can see in one of the photos, we have opened the electronics and everything appears to be original.
