The 17A with its spectacularly grained grenadilla body is a great, light and very resonant concert guitar from Jellinghaus / La Canada. The narrower 49mm nut and the slightly shorter 630mm scale length make it very comfortable to play, even for players with slightly smaller hands.
Instruments from La Canada / Jellinghaus are the work of the well-known guitar maker Edmund Blöchinger and the tonewood expert Wolfgang Jellinghaus.
Historically important and legendary instruments, such as those made by the famous 18th century guitar maker Antonio de Torres, are carefully examined using the few surviving originals and detailed construction plans are drawn up. Based on this data, the highest quality fully solid and hand-built instruments are then constructed, which are modeled on the originals both visually and tonally.
La Canada: Instruments in this series are based in detail on famous, still existing instruments by old Spanish masters.
