Not just one, but both models of the extremely rare Martin D-35 David Gilmour Custom Signature Edition, i.e. the 6-string and the 12-string version, are now available from us as a complete set! Perfect mint condition, original case, hangtags, case candy, everything is present and of course included.
Both instruments are also signed by David Gilmour himself.
Martin on the D-35 David Gilmour Custom Signature Edition: “This guitar is a tribute to David’s beloved D-35, which has accompanied him for over four decades while recording and composing. At the same time, it is still his instrument today, with a style and sound all of its own. The David Gilmour Signature models are the first D-35s ever to feature a neck, back and sides made from sinker mahogany – a wood David chose for its warm, full sound and beautiful grain. For an old-world sound, we added an Adirondack spruce top with VINTAGE TONE SYSTEM® (VTS) and combined it with antique white binding, a vintage high-gloss finish and Waverly Relic nickel tuners. A unique neck profile and fingerboard pattern were custom made to David’s specifications for this guitar, while a special stamp is featured on the back of the Headstock. The signature models are limited to 250 pieces and each label is personally signed by David. This guitar belongs on every collector’s wish list.”
Martin on the D-35 David Gilmour Custom Signature Edition 12-String: “For over forty years, his Martin D12-28 12-string guitar was a staple in David Gilmour’s recording and songwriting repertoire. When this guitar was auctioned in 2019, we were delighted to be able to work with him to develop a 12-string guitar for his music today. The David Gilmour Signature models are the first D-35s ever to feature a neck, back and sides made from sinker mahogany – a wood David chose for its warm, rich sound and exceptionally beautiful grain. A Carpathian spruce top provides an incomparable 12-string sound, while our vintage high-gloss finish and antique white binding emphasize the classic Martin style of the “Golden Era”. In addition, there is a special David Gilmour stamp on the back of the Headstock. The signature models are limited to 250 pieces and each label is personally hand-signed by David – an absolute must-have for every collector.”
