This beautiful instrument from Jellinghaus is based on a guitar built by the world-famous Spanish luthier Antonio de Torres in 1883. The priceless original still exists today and was carefully examined to build this Jellinghaus guitar. The solid Alpine spruce Top is combined with solid, beautifully grained maple. Fine and beautifully crafted inlays of wood and mother-of-pearl, as well as the shellac finish make this guitar a feast for the eyes. In terms of sound, this very lightly built guitar can be described as wonderfully clear, resonant and with a very fast response. A great instrument.
Jellinghaus instruments are the work of the well-known guitar maker Edmund Blöchinger and the tonewood expert Wolfgang Jellinghaus. Historically important and legendary instruments, such as those made by the famous 18th century guitar maker Antonio de Torres, are carefully examined using the few surviving originals and detailed construction plans are drawn up. Based on this data, the highest quality fully solid and hand-built instruments are then constructed, which are visually and tonally modeled on the originals. Jellinghaus instruments are made by experienced master luthiers in China. The Jellinghaus / Pepe Romero instruments are the result of a collaboration between Jellinghaus and Pepe Romero Jr.
