In 2007, Martin Guitars built this special series of the famous Martin D-28 model to celebrate AMI’s 20th anniversary. Only 60 guitars were built, the dreadnought offered here is number 40 of 60, a strictly limited special model at the time, of which the available examples were quickly sold out.
As far as the specifications of the guitar are concerned, it is a classic D-28: Naturally solidly built in the USA, spruce top, Indian rosewood back & sides, high-gloss finish, etc. The sound is also typical Martin rosewood dreadnought, powerful, clear and wonderfully dynamic. Ideally suited for fingerstyle or chords.
The condition of the guitar is very good. Playwear, small scratches and occasional blemishes are present as can be seen in the photos, but overall in great optical condition for a guitar of this age that has been played a lot. The technical condition is also flawless: good neck angle, good frets, comfortable string action and playability. The bridge also sits firmly on the Top and no cracks had to be repaired.
Apart from its great original condition, the guitar was completely checked, optimally adjusted and restrung in our workshop.
The original Martin case is present and included, an L.R.Baggs Anthem pickup was professionally installed in the guitar at an earlier date, sounds great and fits the guitar perfectly.
If you’re looking for a really great player copy of the most famous Martin model of all, you’ve come to the right place. And at a great price too.
