Also known as the “Parlor guitar” depending on the region, this design is one of the smallest body shapes of acoustic guitars. 1936 was an important year for the Parlor design; the “Thirty Six” by Atkin is inspired by the very instruments that became a central component of American folk and blues music at the time. Carefully selected, thermally treated Sitka spruce is used for the Top. In combination with the hand-crafted, scalloped bracing, it produces a tight, lively sound – perfect for both folky fingerpicking and flatpicking in the blues style.
